OASIS Food Pantry
The OASIS Food Pantry serves nearly 400 families each month by providing basic grocery and personal care/hygiene items. Residents of Saint Charles County are eligible to receive these items monthly with a referral from an outside agency or church. OASIS is operated entirely by volunteers and is supported by more than 15 local churches. It is the effort of more than 100 volunteers each month that makes this service available to those in need. Discovery Church is one of the supporting churches and holds a seat on the Board of Directors. We staff the third Thursday of every month as well as any fifth Saturdays and provide the pantry with donated instant pudding each month. We are also in need of donations of items on our food pick list and monetary contributions. Please note that under Missouri tax law, you can receive a tax credit for every dollar donated to a food pantry which means that a $1000 donation would really only cost you $140. The Homeless Patrol
Homeless Patrol operates all year long and is a group from DC that helps to feed and clothe the homeless in St. Charles County every Saturday night. We are always in need of food and winter clothing for this ministry, as well as volunteers! Mended Hearts
Mended Hearts is a music group that travels to nursing homes in the area bringing music, compassion and the life of Christ to its residents.  Everyone, musician or not, is welcome to come, play an instrument and share community with many in need. Fruits of Love
Fruits of Love is a meal service created to bless and serve the regular attendees and affiliates of the Discovery Church body who may temporarily have difficulty providing meals for themselves or their families due to illness, recovering from surgery or being a new mother. We model our lives after Christ when He says, "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples." - John 15:8. Connections to Success
Discovery’s desire is to partner with participants who are from disadvantaged populations as they re-enter the community and workforce. Assisting individuals returning from incarceration is our current main focus. We address their spiritual, emotional, and practical needs through pre-employment training, career development functions, networking help through various agencies and group mentoring gatherings.
