Course Description

This six (6) hour distance-based course utilizes a Virtual Grand Rounds format providing clinical education for Doctor of Chiropractic regarding the evaluation, imaging, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with clinical presentations of lumbar disc disease. The coordination of imaging with the patient’s clinical presentation is emphasized. The programming involves recorded presentations including the integration of a pertinent physical examination techniques, imagery analysis and clinical care interventions. Actual lumbar spine cases are used to engage learners in providing updates in diagnosis, management and treatment of specified clinical conditions.

Evaluation

The content of this course is provided through narrated PowerPoint presentations which the learner’s participation (time) is actively tracked and logged. A minimum of six hours is required. There will be at least three questions for every hour of the class. The learner must receive a score of 80% of the total possible points and log at least six hours to receive credit for the course. Learners not achieving the pass rate will be directed to additional study by the instructor and allowed to re-take the examination.

  • Recognize yellow flags to care and methods of management.
  • Identify chiropractic methodologies in the management of lumbar discopathy.
