Changes to DConline

Posted on June 4, 2017 in

DConline is excited to announce some new and improved changes to our system beginning this year! What does that mean for our users? First, the way you register for a course has changed, and any previous user account information will no longer be valid. Now to sign-up for one of our courses, you will visit our website and browse our course catalog: https://www.dconline.org/overview/course-offering/. When you find the course(s) you want to take, you will purchase them via our secure shopping cart system. Once your transaction is complete, you will be sent an email with a link that will take you your course(s). The first time you enter the new system, you will be required to set your account password. Your email will be your login ID. After your account is setup, you can login to your new course(s) from the “Existing User: Login” link on the upper right at our website.

The platform that our courses are hosted on has also been upgraded. We now use the learning management system Instructure Canvas.  If you have taken a course with us in the past, you will notice a big visual change. We think you will find our new course platform to be not only aesthetically pleasing, but also more user-friendly! One of the key features with the new system is real-time updates. Now your time logged in any given course is updated immediately, which allows us to issue certificates the same day as enrollment.

Along with system upgrades, we have also added new courses to our catalog! We are pleased to now offer ‘Probiotics: Today’s Research’ and ‘California Medical Record Keeping’ courses. Our Immunization course has also been updated for 2017 and now includes HPV. Stay tuned for more courses to be announced, and as always, make sure to check that course(s) you choose is approved in your state (you can verify state approval directly on our website!).

We appreciate your patronage and look forward to having you in class soon!
